How should I store my plastic?
Your local collection scheme will be able to advise you on how they require you to store your plastic so it’s easy and cost-effective to collect.
Here are some general guidelines though that may help.
Spray and chemical containers
- Triple rinse and drain excess water
- Remove lids for inspection and keep separately
String and net wrap
- Remove from all plastics and store in a separate bag
Fertiliser bags, feed bags and woven plastic bags
- Store in bundles in a dry place
Silage wrap, pit cover, sheeting, crop cover and polytunnel film
- Store in a pile accessible by vehicle for loading
