The recycling plant
Until now, the only route for heavily contaminated plastics has been landfill. Through the recycling plant (part of Recycling in Action) we are able to offer an alternative, sustainable, UK-based recycling solution.
Investment has been made in creating a new multi-million pound plant that can handle heavily contaminated plastics, such as packaging films, bottles and containers.
This complete plastic waste washing and pelletising recycling plant accepts plastics in a heavily contaminated state and reprocesses it into a pellet. The resulting recycled material is then fed back into the UK supply chain for remanufacture.
A waste water treatment sub-system is also included which purifies the water and re-uses it in the process. No new water is used and no water is sent to waste. All waste is solidified and the organic material is separated for further processing before being re-introduced back on to the land.
