Innovation hub
As one of the few recycling plants in the UK able to handle contaminated plastics, trials are currently taking place into processing plastics which are heavily contaminated with more complex elements such as blood, meat, fat and other food stuffs such as dairy produce.
The Innovation hub is an area on the Recycling in Action website dedicated to the advances the plant is making in these areas. Working with several retailers, food processors and local authorities, the recycling plant is developing a real and sustainable alternative to landfill for such problematic waste plastics.
